Wendy took every step with caution. One creaky board, one audible footstep, and her stepfather would know she was up in the attic. Up in the one place she wasn't allowed.
Time and time again, she had been reminded not to go to the dusty, ignored innards of the ceiling. "The floor might break," he said. "There are dangerous things up there," he said.
But alas, these warnings only added fuel to the proverbial fire of Wendy's curiosity. And so there she was, on a stormy Saturday evening, guided by the light of her cell phone's backlight.
While using the backlight limited her field of vision, Wendy still found some weird stuff. There was a box of necklaces, a black metal pot, a pointed hat-
